Background

Tally Loyalty set out to digitize loyalty programs for small retailers who still rely on physical loyalty schemes like paper-based stamp cards. Their goal was to build an affordable platform that allows merchants to create fully branded digital loyalty schemes without requiring technical expertise. The solution needed to be scalable, easy to use, and adaptable to a variety of businesses.

Solution

We delivered a fully integrated system consisting of several components.

Merchant Web App

We built a web-based platform for shop owners to create and manage loyalty programs. Merchants can design stamp or point-based schemes, set reward rules, and customize branding. The platform also tracks customer activity to provide lightweight CRM features.

Mobile Scanning App

To enable in-store interactions for the merchants, we developed a mobile app using React Native. Shop staff can scan customer QR codes to award points/stamps or redeem rewards instantly, streamlining transactions without requiring customers to install an app.

Customer Web Frontend

Customers sign up to loyalty schemes via a web portal, where they can sign up, view rewards, and track their points. Shops could customize their portals to reflect their individual branding and messaging.

Backend Infrastructure

All apps are powered by a backend built with FastAPI and deployed on AWS. It handles authentication, QR code logic, transaction tracking, and multi-tenant data separation, ensuring a scalable and secure foundation.

Outcome

The MVP enabled Tally Loyalty to validate their concept in live retail environments, attract early-stage investment, and collect real user feedback. It now serves as a reliable foundation for future product iterations and broader market expansion.
